AIRPORT / COLOMBO

AM   Meet & assist on arrival at airport and proceed to Colombo
PM   City tour of Colombo
COLOMBO …… Sri Lanka ’s capital up to recent times, spread along the shore of the Indian Ocean for some miles, where business and commerce begin and end. A drive through the city will take you to Colombo ’s most fashionable residential District – the Cinnamon Gardens and Pettah, Colombo ’s busiest and most traditional Bazaar area. Visits to the Hindu temple with elaborate stone carvings, the Dutch Church At Wolfendhal dating back to1749, the historic Devatgahaha mosque and the Gangarama Temple . While the city holds less obvious interest than many other parts of the island, It’s still a colorful enough place and worth a visit to see what makes Sri Lanka tick

COLOMBO / NUWARA ELIYA

AM   After breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya
PM   Check in at The Grand Hotel / Tea Factory hotel

Nuwara-Eliya, because of its invigorating mountain climate and scenery, is Sri Lanka ’s most popular hill resort. Nuwara-Eliya is also the heart of Sri Lanka ’s tea country producing a significant share of the world’s best tea. Sri Lanka ’s highest mountain Pidurutalagala (8282 ft) is located here. Nuwara-Eliya also has one of the finest 18 hole golf courses in South Asia .

En route in close proximity to Nuwara Eliya on a long scenic drive, view two beautiful water falls.

DevonFalls 281ft – 86 meters, tall and narrow, framed in a glittering silvery silhouette, set against the background of a green steep precipice, and the St. Clair Falls…. 241ft – 73 meters small but lovely with a board cascade that flows from within site of the Devon Falls

NUWARA ELIYA

AM   After Breakfast leave for Horton Plains.
Horton Plains… which is located on a high Wind swept saddle at about 7000 ft above sea level. The plains are a Expanse of misty grasslands and ice-cold rivulets.. Visit “worlds end” which is considered to be the finest view in all of Sri Lanka . The awesome Escarpment drops vertically for about 4000ft. hence its name -worlds end

04

 

NUWARA ELIYA / KANDY

AM   After breakfast proceed to Kandy
PM   Proceed on a city tour of Kandy
KANDY… Kandy, the Hill Capital was the last bastion of the Sinhala kings and is a charming city offering a living record of a magnificent past. The King's palace, audience hall, King's bath, the archaeological museum must not be missed by any visitor to Kandy.
The Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya (109 km. from Colombo) near Kandy was laid out in 1821 by the British colonial rulers This attractively laid out garden displays many varieties of floral and green plants.
Special features are the Orchid House which displays a fine collection of Sri Lankan orchids. Kandy Lake in the city centre enhancing its beauty is the work of the last King of Kandy. The King had a pleasure house on the little island in the lake.
A walk through the Royal Botanical Gardens, and a visit to the University of Peradeniya. Also a late evening visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and views a Cultural Kandyan dance performance.

KANDY / COLOMBO

After Breakfast leave for Colombo, city shopping. Visit the Magestic city, Liberty plaza, House of Fashion for the ready-made garment. Shop for the Mlesna exquisite. Visit the Lanka Ceramic center. Evening proceed to Airport for departure.
